Happy with my weekends work in Portugal

Hi All

I’m still down here in Portugal chilling out with Kat after another top 10 and blistering weekend of -10. What a shame Day 1 and 2 didn’t quite get going. My game is in great shape and I am now inside the top 30 on the Race to Dubai and up to 80th in the World Rankings.

This week I’ll play no Golf and I would like to thank Paul Quiligotti, a director of my management group Georgia Golf for the use of his villa here in the Algarve for the week, its very kind of him.

So Valderrama next week, then home for a bit before the Asia swing....happy days!

See you soon

Wow! Seve Trophy won!!

Hi all,

Greetings from CDG Airport, Paris. I’m on my way home with a few of the boys after winning the Seve Trophy. The whole week was awesome from start to finish. I loved it and it was an honour to play in memory of the greatest European golfer ever, Seve. The team were great fun and I cannot say enough how much I enjoyed it. Rarely do I play in a team so it was fantastic to experience it as a professional golfer. I want to thank everyone in Paris for their help, to Paul McGinley for his brilliant captaincy and to my team mates for their great support.

Back down to earth with a bump tomorrow so I’ll enjoy the flight home and will never forget this week!

Cheers
JD!

Off to Paris....

Hi All

Good morning from a very wet and rainy Macclesfield where I am packing my gear for the Seve Trophy!. I cannot wait to get out there to Paris with my mates and take on the Continental European team. On paper they look strong but with the GB&I team winning the Walker Cup led by my mate Nigel Edwards, we have to do the same and win!!

Really looking forward to it and I hope we bring the cup home for Paul McGinley.

Cheers
JD!

My best week of the Year!

Hi Folks,

I’ve just got back from my best week of the 2011 season, Tied 3rd with Rory Mcllroy at the Omega European Masters up high in the Alps at Crans Sur Sierre, Switzerland. In short, I just loved it. The course is spectacular and my game bar a a couple of holes was spot on. Moreover, the field being so strong to finish 3rd was a great result. Thomas was awesome on the final day and deserved to win with this 62. Playing with Rors and Westy was great fun and I was pleased to place the same as Rors and to just nip ahead of Lee. It shows what I can do and what I need to strive for. I came away energised and determined as ever to press on in the game. So its back home for a while before we head off again.

Jamie Donaldson plays the US PGA

We are delighted and thrilled for Georgia Golf client Jamie Donaldson who has been invited to play in the 93rd US PGA Championship at the Atlanta Athletic Club, Georgia. The final major of the 2011 season with the top players in the world in attendance.

It's testament to his consistent golf and hard work and we very much hope he has a great week.

Almost a great week

Well here we are, Bakes (caddie) and I reflecting on what could have been this week in Paris.

In the end I finished 21st but we should have finished higher bar the 7th hole today..that's golf!!

My form was good all week and we are really confident of something big happening soon. So it's onto Scotland and my last chance of getting in the Open. I can't wait. Finally, well played Simon Khan on getting a 5th this week, good lad!

All the best,
JD

It's warming up in Paris

Hi All, I'm in Paris for the Alstom Open De France and the brilliant Le National Golf Club, home of the Ryder Cup 2018.

I've been resting for a few weeks, playing in Corporate Golf Days for my sponsors and working on the gardening front, yes I love Gardening!

This week will be a good test, a great field and an awesome atmosphere. Keep an eye on my scores as I need a Top 5 to get into the Open!

All the best

Loved the week, shame about the last day

Hi All, greetings from a rainy Sunningdale, I arrived here late last night following my home Open at the Celtic Manor resort. At the start of the week to be honest I was dreading it. It’s not a place I generally play well. However, this week something changed for me and it was the 2011 season form rolling into the Usk Valley. I played great, struck the ball well and really enjoyed playing with Graeme and Peter. Sadly I fell back on Sunday, just a couple of mistakes and bamm! I was 8th

Not to worry I am still confident of winning and I can’t wait for this week in Italy following today at Open Quals. Then its a home for a couple of weeks off...well not really...I’m playing in Corporate Golf days and opening an Academy at Prestbury Golf Club on June 15th. All good stuff and very important particularly the development of young players in our game of Golf.

All the best,
JD

PB at Wentworth!

Wow!! What a week, the PGA, Seve Friday, Seve Memories to inspire us all, record crowds and I came home -1 to finish T7 my best ever finish in the PGA.

The game was in good shape all week and I was a little loose down the stretch on Sunday which is not like me! That said my tour card is secured for next year and I can now concentrate on winning!

Thanks to my friends that came to watch and now it's Wales! But before that I'm playing in the US Open Qualifying.

Wales is special to me, my home Open and I can't wait to crack on down there....hope you can pop down and watch the golf

All the best

Here we go....the big one...Wentworth

Hi everybody,

It’s that time of the year I and every other Tour Pro loves....the PGA.....it’s incredible. This tournament means so much to us all and as my stable mate Simon Khan showed last year anybody good enough on the day can win this. Yes, the top boys are in town, but golf is game that often turns up the unexpected...all you have to do is give it everything and what else happens is well, just golf.

So a big week and my game is good. This week I went to Walton Heath with my great friend Robert Rock for a practice. We played 36 holes in 4.5 hrs ahead of the US Open Qualifying on May 30th. After that its onto my home Open, the Saab Wales Open at Celtic Manor. Another great week and one in which I hope to serve Wales with a great result.

So enjoy the golf, enjoy your own golf and get those handicaps down now the greens are growing and rolling!

All the best

Back from the Far East

Hi All, I’m back, very jetlagged, very very tired but very happy with my game. I made all three cuts in the Far East and finished in the top 25 in all events. I was leading in China at the half way stage after my 11 under par 61 in the second round which was just great fun! Played some great golf but just came up short ....I guess that’s golf!

All in all 3 good weeks, but now I need to rest up and get ready for Wentworth in a few weeks. I can’t wait but for now I’m delighted to be back home in Cheshire.

See you all at Wentworth!

Hot weather and High humidity for me ...

Hi All,  I’ve just arrived in KL to prepare for the Maybank Malaysian Open. I can’t wait to get going as I love playing out here in the Far East. I’ve got three tournaments back to back here in KL, then China and then Korea. It’s a stretch that will certainly test my golf and my caddie’s stamina!!... with 35C plus and 90% humidity facing us!! My game is in good shape and I was pleased to take the money of my manager Johnny at Prestbury on Tuesday! This is when my season really starts for me, I hope to deliver a strong set of results and then head back home full of confidence as we start the main European section of the season. I hear the weather is great back home so get out there on the course and get those handicaps down.

All the best

Sicily and Andalucia completed ...

Well folks I’ve just finished two more tournaments and made the cut in them both with 14th and 23rd finish respectively. Sicily was emotional...not the golf...but the two hour drive to a course and clubhouse in the middle of nowhere. However, what a stunning place Sicily is, a truly beautiful part of Italy and one I thoroughly recommend you travelling too. My golf was solid there with some great golf mixed in. Again I challenged for the title but couldn’t quite bring out my very best and came 14th.

I then flew onto Malaga for Miguel Angel Jiminez’s tournament, The Andalucían Open presented by Turkish Airlines. The Parador Golf Club is open to the public to play and is always a good test of golf. The 11th particular as it has a nudist beach behind it! Here I played well again but some silly bogies let me down. I was pleased with my final back 9 of 4 under par but sadly 3 bogies on the front 9 meant I finished 23rd instead of a top 10. I was delighted to see my friend Paul Lawrie win though, what a great guy!

So back home now for 10 days to rest and practice before I go off and acclimatise for Malaysia which is promising 35C and 95% humidity....nice!...then onto China and South Korea before coming back to Europe at the end of April.

See you soon

A message from the Far East

Wow what a week for me at the Barclays Singapore Open. I finished 6th tied with Ian Poulter and made some huge strides up the Race to Dubai rankings. My management group kindly secured an invite for me and I was relishing the chance to play in this prestigious event. The course was tough for the final 3 days and the weather was unbelievably hot and humid. My caddie Bakes certainly earned his money, it was so so hot. My game is good and I am now in Hong Kong preparing for the UBS Hong Kong Open, I'm raring to go!!. Two more tournaments and I can get back home to Macclesfield....not before some more success on the course, I hope.

2010....the final push......

Jamie has just returned from a much need rest overseas following an exhaustive series of Tournaments. He is rested and relaxed and shortly heads up to Scotland to compete in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. This is a Pro Am format and he hopefully will be playing with one of his Sponsors, Duane Sutherland of Tetra. Jamie is really looking forward to playing with his great pal Duane, good look to them both!

Following the Scotland trip Jamie leaves these shores for a staggering and high pressured run off 6 tournaments in 7 weeks across, Europe, the Middle and the Far East. Hopefully, this will end with him playing in Dubai at the World Championship where the top 60 European Tour players battle it out for a massive $7,500,00 prize fund.

Following Dubai Jamie then heads back to Cheshire for a well earned rest.
